I wanted to send my thanks for the scholarship I received from the Civic Club as I graduated from high school back in 2015. It’s nearly 10 years later, which I still can’t believe, and I wanted to share the following message as a thank you and to let you know where the scholarship has led me:
I am so grateful for the scholarship I received from the Ingram Civic Club going into college. It was a huge help toward books while I was at Pitt studying bioengineering! I took my knowledge and degree from Pitt and applied it to a master’s degree in International Health at the University of Leeds. Today, I’m working as a Child Mental Health Data Analyst at the NYC Department of Homeless Services, supporting efforts to ensure families with children experiencing homelessness in NYC receive the help they need with respect to their health. So many people helped get me to where I am today, including the Ingram Civic Club, and I’m so appreciative for that.

How the scholarship has helped me:
I always had hopes of attending the University of Pittsburgh. Last year, when applying to scholarships, it was hard to know which ones I was going to receive if any- but I was honored to receive the Ingram Civics Club Scholarship. This has allowed me to attend a beautiful university where I am able to further my education. The money that I received from the Ingram Civic Club has played a role in helping me earn a degree and has helped lessen the burden of paying for college. While being at Pitt, I have been able to join a sorority, join clubs, buy my supplies that I needed, pay for room and board. This was all made possible because of amazing scholarships
like the Ingram Civics Club award.
